Amelia is a Brooklyn-based artist with a background in teaching, art, and dance, and a deep passion for the creative process. A graduate of Skidmore College, with additional studies at RISD and the New York Studio School, she illustrated two children’s books for Downtown Bookworks/Simon & Schuster while working as a kindergarten teacher. Amelia also launched Amelia Carves, creating custom-painted skateboards and other pieces to support her creative practice. Now focusing full-time on her art, she works across various mediums, including painting, pottery, embroidery, and cardboard art, blending playful experimentation with the curiosity and imagination inspired by her former students. Amelia’s work explores the space between fine art and functional design, radiating a sense of joy, exploration, and creative freedom.
